Embedding Fonts in Macromedia Director Movies
Embedding fonts in Macromedia Director Movies - Before creating text or field cast members, it's good practice to embed the fonts you want to use in the movie. Embedding fonts makes Director store all font information in the movie file so that a font displays properly even if it is not installed in a user's system. Because embedded fonts are available only to the movie, there are no legal obstacles to distributing fonts in Director movies.
Embedding Fonts in Macromedia Director - In order for a font to display correctly in your movie, the user's computer — whether Mac or PC — must have that font installed (same rules as a web page)...If you want to use any other font in your Director work, you must embed that font in your movie. Embedding a font temporarily installs it, making it available for you to use in your text!

This is done while you are developing the movie and is worthwhile if you have quite a few cast members in an unusual font. Embedded fonts appear in a movie as cast members.
How to correctly display fonts in projectors or Shockwave movies - Fonts change in projectors and Shockwave movies during playback. Use Directors embedded Font feature. This ensures that the font information travels with the Director file.
Tech Note: Embedded Fonts and PrintOMatic - Items that use "embedded fonts" in Director don’t print as expected with those fonts - Tech Note: Director’s "embedded fonts" can be tricky to work with in Windows. Depending upon your Windows security settings and user login, they may not be available for use in printing. Why can't some fonts be embedded in Director movies? - Director can only embed fonts that have recordable outlines and not all fonts have these recordable outlines.
