In fact, Enterprise Honolulu, an economic development agency, has designated Film and Digital Media as an important target industry for Hawaii. This includes digital filmmaking, video games, computer animation, Web design, acting, and modeling -- which can be studied in one of the state's cutting-edge design programs.
Hawaii's Hottest Career Field
Hawaii has invested tremendous resources into developing this industry. The Academy for Creative Media, for example, is a statewide initiative designed to leverage the resources of its colleges and universities to create a comprehensive, world-class media program. The ACM's goal is to produce world-class film and digital media professionals. Within ten years, it's expected that film and television will become a $300 million a year industry for Hawaii.
