Description of Exif file format - Currently, most of new digicam use Exif file format to store images. This specification was made by JEIDA, but there is no open document in internet. So I made tiny description about Exif from some of open documents that can get from internet.
Digital Camera File Formats - JPEG and EXIF - Most digital cameras record files in JPEG format (they have a .jpg filename extension), but they use a special variation of JPEG called Exif. This is a standard that allows extra information to be recorded by the camera into the image file. The Exif standard was developed by the Japanese Electronics Industry Development Association (JEIDA) and is used in almost all models of digital camera.

Exchangable Image File Format (EXIF) - A description and definitoin of the EXIF file format
EXIF.org - An unofficial site dedicated to EXIF and related resources. EXIF stands for Exchangeable Image File Format, and is a standard for storing interchange information in image files, especially those using JPEG compression. Most digital cameras now use the EXIF format. The format is part of the DCF standard created by JEITA to encourage interoperability between imaging devices.

Manage The Digital Workflow - Exif Metadata - Part 1 of this series evaluates the use of EXIF metadata. Part 2 will introduce you to IPTC metadata integration in your workflow and will also discuss other forms of metadata.
Use Metadata to Improve Your Pictures - Every time you click the shutter, your digital camera records valuable picture data that describes the image you just captured. Data such as time, shutter speed, aperture, focal length, and ISO are written to the file header in the EXIF format (Exchangeable Image File). This information becomes part of the total image file and can be displayed with applications such as Photoshop 7 and iPhoto 1.1.
What is an EXIF JPEG file? - The Exchangeable Image File (EXIF) format is an international specification that lets imaging companies encode metadata information into the headers or application segments of a JPEG file. This metadata information includes shutter speed, aperture, and the date and time the image was captured.
