Adobe proposes universal digicam 'raw' image format - Adobe is to promote a 'standard' alternative to digital cameras' numerous 'raw' photo formats.
Casio Raw Format File - Casio had hidden the option to create raw 1 format files for their cameras, considering it to be a test option rather than a photographic tool. The efforts to decode the format have been shared among many - in particular the format for the QV-5700 proved very tricky.

Digital camera raw file support - The camera raw functionality in Adobe® Photoshop® software provides fast and easy access within Photoshop to the "raw" image formats produced by many leading professional and midrange digital cameras. By working with these "digital negatives," you can achieve the results you want with greater artistic control and flexibility while still maintaining the original "raw" files.
Is shooting in the RAW format worthwhile? - Shoot RAW! One exception -- if you know you're shooting images only for the web or for email -- shooting images for ebay or family shots to jpg out in an email, or even instructional images that you're using in a digital slide show or power point presentation, then jpg files are fine.
Is the Nikon D70 NEF (RAW) format truly lossless? - Many digital photographers (including myself) prefer shooting in so-called RAW mode. In theory, the camera saves the data exactly as it is read off the sensor, in a proprietary format that can later be processed on a PC or Mac to extract every last drop of performance, dynamic range and detail from the captured image, something the embedded processor on board the camera is hard-pressed to do when it is trying to cook the raw data into a JPEG file in real time.
RAW Image Files May Be The Best Digital Archiving File Format Once Manufacturers Start Documenting It: OpenRaw Comes To The Rescue - Most camera manufacturers use a proprietary file format to store the 'raw' data from their digital cameras. In the short history of digital photography, manufacturers have dropped support for asset management applications, abandoned settings from older RAW processor versions and changed the methods of storing basic camera settings without documentation.
RAW File Format Information - Information about RAWs
RAW Image Format - A camera raw image file contains the unprocessed data from the image sensor of a digital camera. Also called RAW (although it is not an acronym) or CCD-RAW (even for CMOS sensors), its format is proprietary and differs from one manufacturer to another, and sometimes between cameras made by one manufacturer. The image must be processed and converted to an RGB format such as TIFF or JPEG before it can be manipulated by a bitmap graphics editor, printed, or displayed by a typical web browser.
RAW, JPEG and TIFF - There seems to be a lot of confusion among some new digital camera owners about exactly what the difference is between RAW, JPEG

Understanding RAW File Format - When you take a picture in JPEG file format with your digital camera, a couple of things happen before the image is even saved to memory card
Understanding Raw Files - There is probably more misinformation, disinformation and lack of information regarding what raw files are all about than on any other digital imaging topic. There are also many reasons why one should shoot in raw mode, but also quite a few reasons why many people don't. Let's have a look at both.
Using the Raw camera format - As they record only your camera's sensor data, Raw files give you tremendous control over your images
