MySpace Fonts and MySpace Layouts Tutorial - Part I
(Look Below for Links to MySpace Fonts Links, MySpace Fonts Tutorials, and MySpace Fonts Codes)
When deciding on the Myspace fonts to use when formatting your Myspace page, you need to first decide if you want to focus on making sure everyone can use your page the way you designed it or whether you want to doll it up the way that makes you creativily happy.
Using font tags you can use any fonts that are on your computer when designing your Myspace page. The way you design it will look perfect to you when viewing the page from your computer, but it might not look the same on other people's computers. Other people might have some trouble with the way that they fonts flow. If your visitors don't have the fonts available on their computer, their web browser will determine which fonts they see on your page instead. This doesn't only effect the way words look either, it can also cause all kinds of things to shift around on your page since there may be differences in how much space the different fonts take up. If you are going to be the primary user of your Myspace page, or if you know that most of the people using your page are on the same version of your operating system (for example you all us Mac OS X), you can give yourself a bit of flexibility. In this scenarios, you can design your MySpace layout with whatever fonts and layout codes that you want, because most of the people who view your page will see them correctly and the way that you intended them to look.
If you want everyone to be able to see your Myspace fonts the way that you see them, you will need to limit your choices to the fonts everyone else has. The default fonts that almost everyone has on their computer (at least if they use a version of Windows) are: Arial, Courier New, Times New Roman, Verdana, Trebuchet MS and Lucida Sans (to some extent). Some of the fonts are a little different on the Mac, but the Mac is pretty good about translating those fonts to equivelents that are on the Mac. For example, Arial is basically the same font as Helvetica, which is a default font on the Mac. These are often referred to as web safe fonts. These font guidelines aren't limited to Myspace fonts either, it is true for most basic HTML web page design.
But what do I do if I want part of my Myspace page to use a different font (like my title) but want everyone to see it the same way I do? The easiest solution is to make that part of your Myspace layout art instead of a font. Open up a drawing program, type out the text you want, save it as a Jpg file, and then put that graphic where you want it on your Myspace page. Don't do this too much though, or it will make your MySpace page look strange and load very slowly. It also will make it so that it takes longer for you to make changes.
So now that I've decided decided what Myspace fonts I want to use, how do I include them and format them for my Myspace layout?
I'll write about that in part 2 of my article on Myspace fonts and Myspace layouts. Come back soon to see the next part of this article. Also, look below for more help on MySpace fonts.
