As Graphic Designers, we are all creative individuals. I thought that most of you would love to know about all of the fantastic online drawing and painting tools that are available online. Not only are they fun, but they are also quite useful for sketching out some of our ideas. Some of these tools can also be used as design collaboration tools to use with your co-workers, clients, friends, teachers, and family. Qbesq is the a nice little Flash arabesque drawing tool. This drawing tool is in the early development stages, but it is quite nice and works well.
Queeky is an online drawing community for people who like drawing and share their pictures with others. All pictures made on Queeky can be replayed by the visitors. See how an intersting picture is made and learn from the top artists. The benefits of this site is that you can create drawings, edit drawings, continue pictures of other users, create a profile with your own subdomai, make friends, share drawings on your blog or website, and write comments.

Russian Drawing tool that is really quite a nice tool. Although the words on the page make no sense to me because I don’t speak Russian, it looks like a top quality drawing and painting tool.
The Scribbler takes simple vector based input (in the case of the online toy, your drawing) and creates its own drawing on top of it based on a number of simple rules. When a new scribble line is created it chooses a few numbers at random that eventually determine what sort of line it will draw. As it begins to draw it fine tunes those values to the type of drawing that you’ve made. Certain scribbles are better at following straight paths, others are better at outlining curves, and others are better for filling in large areas of color. Because there is randomness built into the program, each scribble is unique.
Sketchcasting is a new way to communicate something online by recording a sketch, optionally with your voice speaking. Any sketch can then be embedded on your blog/ homepage for people to play-back, and you can also point people to your sketchcast channel here (or let them subscribe to your sketchcast RSS feed). Create a tutorial explaining how boomerangs work (and why they don’t always return). Draw a doodle of your ex. Explain a math formula. Create a cartoon (you can use the eraser tool to make place for several panels of the cartoon). Get a partner and explain a concept together… voice recording doesn’t have to be used by only one person! Write a love letter with lots of sketching inbetween. Create a riddle for kids: draw something and the kid has to guess while you’re drawing. Draw a manga action scene. Or many other drawing ideas.

Sketchplanet is an online user-driven sketching community. By registering you can sketch, vote, create groups and more.
SwarmSketch is an ongoing online canvas that explores the possibilities of distributed design by the masses. Each week it randomly chooses a popular search term which becomes the sketch subject for the week. In this way, the collective is sketching what the collective thought was important each week. A new sketch begins after one week, or after the previous sketch reaches one thousand lines, whichever comes first. Each user can contribute a small amount of line per visit, then they are given the opportunity to vote on the opacity of lines submitted by other users. Here you can take advantage of all sorts of useful features such as Privacy, Dynamic Tools, Image Upload, and In-Screen Chat.

WebCanvas - The World’s Largest Collaborative Painting.
WebCanvas is a world-wide collaborative painting project. In this site anyone with a modern web-browser can move around an ‘infinite’ canvas. Using available painting tools is its also possible to draw and upload images. Furthermore it is possible to view other users painting if they happen to be painting within the same viewing area. As a professional illustrator, I think Sketchpan. http://www.sketchpan.com has the most versatile and easy tools to work with. like making replaying function, flipbooks and drawing on somebody else’s drawing. And it’s free. You should add this one, too.

DoInk.com is in alpha right now… we do vector illustrations (though it feels like MSPaint if you want to avoid beziers)… and animation! (both ‘flip-book’ and composition based). Our cool twist: you can re-use art shared by the community, so if you can’t animate a horse, you can search on one in the editor, and then add it to your own animation. If you ever do a post on online drawing/animation programs, I hope we make it

Seems to be some kind of online toolkit, with new modules added over time. For bitmap drawing, they have a module called Phoenix, and they also have a ditto for vector graphics either in the making, or if it’s done already, I’m not sure.
Cool tools. Pixamixa.com has a tool called painter that is in development. It will be very comprehensive when complete.
Check it out if you like online drawing tools. A lot of different and very unique brushes. Tons of effects that you can make with different blend modes etc.
as i said, its in development right now so it keeps getting better all the time.
What about ArtRage-http://www.artrage.com ? Windows & Mac.
There’s a limited version which seems to still be free and the full version is only $25(US).
Forgot to mention — Artrage is more like Pencil, in that it’s a download, not an online drawing tool. Still pretty cool, though.
