Free Photoshop Brushes for Creativity and Fun

Photoshop is an application that can be used by beginners for graphics projects and photo retouching. But as many seasoned  PS users know, this is only the very surface of what this great program can do.
.
Seasoned PS users also start to collect all manner of plugins and add-ons to their Photoshop program. The number of these great (and some not so great) tools are useful for creating just the right design you are going after. In many cases, a “simple” graphics piece has a myriad of little tweaks and additions that the casual observer misses.
.
See that smoke in that advertisement? Most likely it was a Photoshop brush or plugin that was responsible for that beautiful texture. Just how do they do it? Easy–with accessory Photoshop brushes, patterns, gradients, and shapes.
.
To get you started or to add to your existing Photoshop zoo of effects, here are some free downloadable ones that may interest you.¬† These effects/brushes were collected by our friends over at photoshopbrushes.com. We’ve picked our favorites from there for you to check out. Just click on the image to go to the download site.
.
Bon appetit! (Well, you can’t really eat these effects, but you get the idea…)

The smoke brushes are really neat! I remember a long time ago trying to make the smoke effect on your own…brushes are so much easier!
