LOGO FOR DAY CARE please critique
I'm creating a logo for a Hmong (Asian Ethnic Group) Day Care. This is a hmong fabric pattern popular in the Hmong culture... http://www.nebraskafolklife.org/images/ ... ubdued.jpgSo I tried in corporating it in the tree... which one do you think works better? The one on the left resembles the pattern very well. The one on the right seems to stand out more, but having initials in an image seems too cliche, overkill. Need help deciding which one is preferred. Thanks! Thanks!

Re: LOGO FOR DAY CARE please critique
I have no clue what Asian Adult Day Care would be...but I guess I like the one of the left more, although both seem a bit too busy to be easily remembered by a customer, but that's just my opinion.

Re: LOGO FOR DAY CARE please critique
I prefer the one on the left but both are very busy to be memorable, I must agree. I would lose the design in the center and I don't think you need the leaves. They are just adding to the busyness of the piece and is not giving the design a cohesive look. I am not feeling the leaf on top of the wordmark and the typeface size is too large for the icon. I would try a few more typefaces as well because I am not feeling the one you're using. I do feel it has potential.

Going with the consensus, ditch the leaves and the graphics inside the tree, I do like the tree, but there are to many extra elements not necessary. Also the typeface is not working well with this, keep the typeface more of a sans serif, with all the elments of the tree you don't need added in the typeface. I think if you could find a font which looks more like the painted effect of asian writing sort of a thich think brush stroke would lend more to this. Keep at it, it is getting there.

Re: LOGO FOR DAY CARE please critique
Thanks for the positive feedback. Going with a thich Asian bold BRUSH (calligraphy) is truly the cliche-ist thing any designer could do.
I tried removing some leaves as some of you mentioned. I took the life away making the tree look very leafless dying tree. A creepy tree from halloween.
If you look at the link I sent, it shows the pattern which I'm trying to resemble. Yes the design is busy, but for a trained Asian eye, it will be memorable too all who recognize the cultural pattern.
Thanks again all!

The one on the left is better, the initials on the right are too much. What in the world is Asian day care??? Seems like they need a new name to me.

Re: LOGO FOR DAY CARE please critique
Like everyone else I think that the left one is the best, but it is a bit busy. I agree that removing the leaves would make the tree look lifeless, which is not a good thing. I don't really have much to elaborate on that matter but I still have a suggestion.
Have you been designing this logo in color from the beginning? If you made the logo 100% black, is the logo easy to read and understand? I'm sure you have done this but perhaps moving back a step to b&w will allow you to make smarter decisions on what you remove or change. Perhaps you could post the logo in gray scale so that we could see it as well?
I enjoy the colors though, and the typeface is good but could use some improvement.
