Post Time machine?
Have any of you guys got a time machine from apple? I looked at it at first and 'pfft' ed it but on second glance it would be a really really really good way to keep my back ups safe, and up to date especially when I use two or three different computers and such in the home and hate to keep having to transfer stuff and keep it all up to date and backed up.

Hello,

I'm sorry I'm not able to help you out with this matter. Hopefully other people in the forum will post soon and get your question answered.

I have the 500gb model at work and love it. Thankfully I have never had to use the back up but it's a cool feature to be able to go back and get any file you saved on a previous date.

I have time machine now with my new computer. I haven't had a chance to really check it out though. Seems like it would be very useful.

I use it and as I posted in a recent thread it saved my @ss just a few weeks ago when my hard drive crashed. The best part is that I had my entire computer backed up so when I restored from my backup I got back everything including e-mails, bookmarked sites, project files, programs, music, videos...

It's best to have a pretty large backup drive for this since the initial backup is huge. After that it just automatically backs any changed or new files every few hours.

I LOVE time machine, it really saved me (after I figured out how to retrieve the files) after I had realized I had saved the wrong version of some files, saved me A LOT of work having to be redone. i just went back to the time when I knew the project was due and retrieved the correct versions.

It's definitely a MUST!!!!!!

Hi,

Frank Harris invented the first navigational time machine. He worked all his life on it with very little reward and appreciation. On the end he reduced his time machine into a wrist watch and we still use the same idea to day.
