I hope I am posting this in the correct place....
I am new to Dreamweaver and only playing around at the moment (starting school in Feb.) but I am unable to preview the page in my browser. I am using Firefox and have also tried it on IE. I am using a PC. I have a feeling it is something in the settings for the Internet and not with Dreamweaver...any help would be greatly appreciated.

Go to File - Preview in Browser - Edit Browser list

Make sure each browser is pointing to the executable file for the browser. If that doesn't work, a reinstall might be in order.

I have encountered the very same thing. I have built many pages that contain .flv files with no problems. Tonight however, all of a sudden, any page containing a .flv shows up in browsers as the chosen skin graphics broken up into many parts , including the barber pole.
But no video or audio at all
When I look at the source in FF, it appears exactly as the code does in DW.
I have been trying everything for hours and can't find the problem.

just uploaded a page and it displayed perfectly from my site...when I test from DW FF, Safari both display the skin all broken apart...

he odd thing is, it only does this locally..DW shoulff be able to find its own skin in its own folder right?

I have reinstalled DW and Java and am out of my mind.

Man. I hate these kinds of issues..Its not critical, but its bugging me so much that I'm wasting hours trying to solve the puzzle..

Hopefully I'm not the only one with this disability...

Is it having problems finding the skin for the flash, or is it finding it just displaying it wrong?

well, hard to say which...when I post ta page to my server and put the url into my browser, the page displays everything perfectly...when I "preview in browser" the above pics are all I get...

must be how your links are set up. But if its displaying correctly on your server, i wouldn't worry too much about it.
