 Little SEO Secret!
Extend your domain registrations at least 5 years, and watch your site rise on that alone.. Google and other directories want to make sure that your going to be around for a while... Spammers usually only register for 1 year. Make sense?

 Re: Little SEO Secret!
I am yet to see any evidence of this at all. Even if it were the case your ranking would surely drop again as time went on?
I have a few first page and 1st position sites with 1 and 2 year reg. and one of those is for a very competitive casino keyword.

 Re: Little SEO Secret!
I haven't seen evidence of it either, most of our domains auto-renew year to year without an issue. Domains that we have renewed for multiple years don't seem to do any better or worse. Google is a registered registrar however with full use of the whois database, so it is not impossible for them to get this info so I don't discount it completely. For all practical matters though I have tried it both ways with no apparent difference.

I've heard this before but never have seen any proof of it. Can you provide any? Seems like a lot of "seo secrets" are just people guessing... I'm not knocking this one... I'd just like to see the evidence.

 Re: Little SEO Secret!
I think you have a point there. But it will not a big factor. There are around 200 factors Google consider for SERP. But I think it will be a one factor.

 Re: Little SEO Secret!
It may be a valid reason to improve your rankings but I don't think it can bring in a significant change unless you have a strong case for us to read. Domain registration for 1-2 years is very common.
If that's true then I think every one will get domain registered for 10-15 years then what will Google do?

 Re: Little SEO Secret!
I also dont think so because mostly 1 year registration sites perform same as 5 year registration period website.

Very frankly I am little bit convinced by your point but for faith on your point it requires experiment so I will surely try your explained trick on one of my domain.
