 Is Mozilla the best browser???
Hi guys, Can anyone tell me what is the main deference between IE and Mozilla Firefox ? I have been using IE (version 6.0) for one year but from now on I have decided to use Firefox. I just want to know as to what Mozilla can do which Internet Explorer can not. Thanks!

Re: Is Mozilla the best browser???
I actually have both, I use IE primarily, but I use Firefox sometimes. I prefer IE, but I've heard good things about Firefox. Most I used it in case a site needs firefox support (rarely happens).
Here's an article I found, simply if you use google advanced feature and search for internet explorer vs. firefox or in some fashion together.
http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20 ... refox.html This also has a PDF of the report.
I have not read this yet, so I can't give you a clear answer. If you or anyone else would like to summarize it that would be cool. I just simiply don't have the time today. Hope this helps somewhat.

Re: Is Mozilla the best browser???
I use both too, most of the time I use Firefox though. If you're going to use IE, you should at least upgrade to version 7 for tabbed browsing. This was the main reason I started using Firefox in the first place. I can't live without my tabs anymore.
Now that IE7 has tabs, I use firefox mostly out of habbit. I also like some of the extensions I have for firefox, not sure what is available for IE in this department.
I also like that if my browser crashes, Firefox always remembers what sites I was on and returns to them when I reopen the browser. Don't know if IE 7 does this. Since I often have like 5 tabs open at at time, I don't usually remember everything I'm looking at so this is handy.
Of course there is always "I'd rather use non-Microsoft products when there is an open source product that is at least its equivelent"

Re: Is Mozilla the best browser???
Is there such a thing as a best browser? I don't believe their is, they all have their quirks. Don't believe the hype about Firefox being 100% standards compliant, it isn't. IE certainly (at least IE7) isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Then there's always Opera - which had all the features that Firefox and IE had long before them.
Life's too short to worry about some things. Use whatever you want.

Re: Is Mozilla the best browser???
Well... IE has gotten much better with the latest version, but in my opinion it is still far from being as good as Firefox. While you can browse sites with IE, you can actually work with Firefox and its great extensions like the Webdeveloper toolbar or Firebugs, it's also more secure and has better rendering. The only downside is probably that it consumes way too much memory...

Re: Is Mozilla the best browser???
I plan on having both, just for the sake of my sanity. I use IE more often, well because I am comfortable in it and normally don't have browser support issues, unless a site requires firefox only. Eventually I will dive into Firefox and until then I favor IE.

Re: Is Mozilla the best browser???
With all the great add-on features I think Firefox is the best browser for web developers.

Mozila is best browser for all aspects. It is good for SEO and normal web surfers. it is fast and you can install various add ons that decrease the seo efforts.

Re: Is Mozilla the best browser???
One of the best parts of Mozila Firefox is the huge collection of extensions that are available. I can not live without the developer toolbar in my day to day work environment. I use this single extension ALL THE TIME!
There are many more differences, but I will leave some room for others to respond. You made the right choice for your default browser!
