what do you guys usually charge for just business card design? and what do you charge for both business card design with printing? thanks

I usually charge for a simple design $20.00 for a complex design with a background and full bleed about $45.00. Then whatever the cost of printing is I usually double the price. What company do you use for your printing?

$150 for something simple, $200 for something complex. custom artwork may be extra if it takes more than an hour or so. printing i give discounts for (if my company does your card), i get an insane deal on it from a hookup. i also like to offer discounted printing for reorders, repeat business, and bands/musicians, since music is my weakness. take into consideration that time spent sketching, time spent in meetings, gas to get there, office supplies, computer equipment, phone/email/internet/whatever costs money too, and you'll see that $50 an hour really isn't that much! unless you're a student just trying to get some stuff for your portfolio, i'd say an absolute beginner in the industry should get a min. $60-75 for a business card. good luck!

Me, too, I trust them with the printing and the costing.. I usually just focus on the way I want my design and how it will look after. I think it is also better to trust professionals on printing to save money and resources as well.
